This edition of the OD shirt is dyed using traditional Dorozome methods in Amami-Oshima by Kanai Kouegi. The process begins with a tannin rich teichiki bark extract that reacts with iron rich mud to produce a rich deep brown. The ombre effect requires 25 successive dye baths to achieve the right balance and fade quality. With wear, washing, and exposure to sunlight, the colour will evolve, taking on a life of its own.
